Do you love fashion? Do you enjoy being around beautiful people? Are you trying to date a model? These are all reasons that you might want to intern for Ford Models. Some of these reasons are more legitimate than others, but from what we gather, you need to be really serious about the modeling industry to land an internship with Ford Models. Competition is fierce for the limited spots they have, and finding information on how to land an internship with Ford Models is pretty tough. We’ve done a bunch of research, and we think we’ve got most of the details figured out. So if you’re ready to give up that dream of being a model yourself, then maybe interning at a modeling agency will be what you need to plan your new direction in life.
We almost decided to ignore the internships, and just talk about modeling opportunities. Why? Because we figure that all of One Day, One Internship’s readers are extremely good looking. Then we realized that modeling isn’t just about good looks; you have to be able to turn left. Since we know how hard that is, we figured that we’d tell you about some internship opportunities where you can put your good looks to use without turning left.
Unfortunately, it seems that Ford Models doesn’t make it easy to find information about their internships online. They probably get flooded with applications from people who want to be model / interns (not intern / models), so they don’t even bother promoting the program. That means that we’ve had to piece together what information we can find about Ford Models’ internships from the Google results for “Ford Models Internships.” We do know that they offer internships year round, and accept applications on a rolling basis. We’re guessing that now is probably the perfect time to start applying for Fall internships; however, we can’t be sure what timeframe they typically use for hiring interns.
From what we’ve read, most of Ford’s interns are based in New York City, but each of their offices around the world takes on interns as well. Locations include Miami, FL; San Francisco, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Milwaukee, WI; Chicago, IL; Scottsdale, AZ; Canada (Toronto and Vancouver); Brazil (Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro), and France (Paris). Interns typically work in Marketing or Public Relations, although we’ve also heard of Photography Interns at Ford Models. It’s hard to get a sense of what kind of tasks interns at Ford Models usually take on, but we’ll make a guess that the networking opportunities and the name on the resume will be more valuable than the actual work experience, but that’s just a guess.
We can’t be sure which is the best way to apply for internships with Ford Models, but we do know that they accept cover letters and resumes at careers@fordmodels.com. You can also try contacting the individual offices. The contact information for each office can be found by clicking the Location link on Ford Models’ Home page
