Rue21 Logo

Rue 21 is all about fashionable clothing at a reasonable price. They sell both men’s and women’s wares in their stores, which stretch across 41 states. As of now they’re strictly a brick and mortar operation, although it looks like they might be moving towards an online store at some point. Rue21 appears to have a significant internship program, but getting details on it has been a bit difficult. Here’s what we’ve found out.

You Will Not Rue the Day You Decide to Intern for Rue21

The way Rue21 lists their internship opportunities is a bit puzzling. If you go to their Jobs page, you will find no mention of their internship program. The only reference to internships on their site is in their Frequently Asked Questions. The really strange thing is that they’re actively promoting their internship program on paid sites like CareerBuilder. We’re going to help you avoid confusion by running through everything you need to know if you want to intern with Rue21.

Rue21’s internships are paid and located in the Pittsburgh, PA area. Rue21 offers internships in Facilities/Construction, Merchandising, Finance/Accounting, Human Resources, Product Development, Real Estate, Information Technology, Store Operations, Marketing, and Distribution/Planning. Internships appear to be offered year round, and you can apply by sending a resume and cover letter to Careers@rue21.com. You should note what internship you’d like to apply for, and when you’d like to apply. For instance, your subject line may look like “Human Resources Internship - Fall 2008.” You should also include your availability during the time that you’d like to intern. Applying for an internship at Rue21 is actually really simple, but they don’t make it easy to figure out how to do it.
